Testimonials

I am excited to let you know that I have been accepted to the Banner Health Fellow’s Program, to start in March, 2009. This acceptance allows me to enter the (RN) nursing school at least a full year sooner than I would have started from the general student waiting list. The program is also accelerated with fabulous clinical opportunities.

I wanted to share my news because the focused training at AMTI provided me with a foundation that gave me a professional boost in my work with patients. Although I have not started as a CNA yet (I took a position as a patient transporter at Banner), I was able to apply AMTI’s trained skills to my job. Gratefully, many of those skills were essential for the best care to be provided for my patients: body mechanics, patient ambulating, rolling, moving patients with broken hips or recent surgery, placing call lights and phone next to patient (my customer service plus), understanding the RN’s scope of practice vs. the CNA’s scope (I always report to the RN), the importance of understanding that oxygen is an administered drug (again, the RN’s scope), bacteria control (I rock at this), all the skills of direct communication with the patients, and the list goes on…..

I am a former student of AMTI from 2007. I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I will be starting my first CNA position in August for a valley hospital on the med-surg floor. I am very excited to actually start my new career in the medical field and want to say thank you again to you and all the staff at AMTI for my experience there. Please pass this along to my teacher, Diane Doiron. Her knowledge and teaching will be with me every day in my new career. I am especially grateful to AMTI for the lessons in professionalism and compassion that are going to be the most valued traits that I can carry with me.

I just took my boards this past weekend on the 13th and passed! I want to thank all at AMTI who made this possible, especially for Nancy’s help. I felt our 3 week class bonded and we made some friendships. It was a great class and I am glad that I attended.

Just wanted to say thanks for all your knowledge and encouragement through my CNA class/clinical experience.  I received your letter of recommendation recently and am so honored by what you wrote (without even asking for a letter of recommendation).  Thank You.

I now understand what you meant when you told us we’d get out of the program exactly what we wanted to.  I came in with little/no experience with hands-on nursing and left feeling confident that I could apply for a job and succeed with it.  While I’m anxiously awaiting acceptance into nursing school, this experience has been so valuable to me as a basis for everything else I will learn.

You are an asset to AMTI and were a huge factor in my success in the CNA program.

Thanks so much,
Carrie S,  CNA Graduate

I took the CNA state boards on Sunday and passed with a 96% on the written portion and a perfect skills exam with zero incomplete steps.  During the skills portion of my exam, the observer commented several times on the level of detail that was given and asked who my teacher was. When I stated “Linda” she nodded her head as if to confirm w hat she suspected and indicated that this level of detail was consistent with Linda’s students. At the end of the skills exam she asked me to tell you that it was “flawless.” Although I am obviously very pleased with my performance on the exam, I don’t believe the compliment was meant for me as much as it was meant for Linda and her excellence in teaching.  Linda obviously presented the material that was necessary to prepare me for the exam.  During clinicals she offered great advice and gave me the confidence I needed to perform well.

I would like to thank Linda and AMTI for helping me become a CNA!

Sincerely,
Cathy M,  CNA Graduate
